In the past year I have come to know some incredible adventurers, explorers and athletes. Each has their own unique take on the world but what they all have in common is a desire to commit completely to the event that they love. These young men are no exception. I followed the usual path – school, gap year, university and then London. I had the perfect house with two of my closest girlfriends. I had a great job in Mayfair working as a financial head hunter. I had a hot boyfriend. Life was good. Or at least on paper. But I just couldn’t settle. I couldn’t enjoy the London lifestyle. I felt like I was wishing away the minutes to get to the weekend. It was New Years Eve and I suddenly realised I hated my job and wanted to do something different so I walked into my office on the 2nd January 2009 and handed in my notice.
