In the afternoon a helicopter flew up to camp three picked up something from the ranger tent before heading further up the mountain. We were all wondering what was up. Joey said he needed to let us know a solo climber had fallen off the crest and the helicopter was heading up to retrieve his body. We all got very quiet. I made a mental note however – don’t take the helicopter ride off the mountain.
